Test Junior Nordics Test
Junior Nordics gives children the chance to enjoy the Alaskan winter while learning cross-country skiing. Skiers of all abilities are welcome to join a program focused on fun, fitness, and technique. Volunteer coaches teach classic and skate skiing, equipment care, trail etiquette, sportsmanship, and outdoor responsibility. Practices include warm-ups, technique lessons, group skiing, and a fun activity.
Lessons take place from January to March at Government Peak Recreation Area (GPRA) located at the base of Hatcher Pass.
This program is almost entirely run by volunteers, so we ask all families to sign up for volunteer opportunities. If you are unable to volunteer, you may opt out at registration by selecting the option below, which includes a $100 donation.
