🌲 Two Ways to Dig In Before the Snow Flies!

Lots of you have already jumped in to adopt a section of our new trails (thank you!), and there are still plenty of roots, rocks and trail to go around. Adopt-A-Trail Segment - Grab your family, friends, or coworkers, choose a section and give it some finishing love on your own schedule through October 10th.

Or join us for one big community work day as we make our final push to get the trails winter-ready. Volunteer Trail Work Day — October 10 at GPRA from 10am - 2pm.

Better yet—do both! Adopt a section now, chip away when you can, then join us October 10 to finish strong together.

Because skiing a trail is fun. Skiing one you helped finish? Even better. 🌲❄️

❄️ Junior Nordics is Coming!

Ready to get your kids outside and loving winter? Junior Nordics welcomes skiers ages 5–16 of all abilities for a season filled with fun, fitness, new skills, and plenty of time on snow with friends.

We've been busy updating our Junior Nordics webpage with everything families need to know before registration - from schedules and skier groups to equipment, rentals, volunteering, FAQs, and what to expect during the season. Take a few minutes to check it out now, and if you don't find the answer you're looking for, reach out - we're happy to help!

⏰ Get Ready for Registration

Junior Nordics fills quickly! Returning participant registration opens October 10th at 10 a.m., with new family registration opening October 13th at 10 a.m.

A current MSSC Family Membership is required to access registration and participate in this program, so don't wait until registration morning to become a member. Get that piece taken care of now and you'll be ready to go!

Junior Nordics wouldn't happen without our amazing volunteer coaches, and we're looking for more people to join the fun this winter!

You don't have to be an expert skier to make a difference. Coaching is a great way to ski alongside our kids, share what you know, meet other families, and become part of an incredibly fun community. Benefits may include admiration from your skiers, new friends, gifts of appreciation, an MSB parking pass, lots of fresh air, and some pretty great winter memories. 💙 If you’re interested in coaching this season fill out the application through the link below. Helping Keep Junior Nordics Accessible

We’re incredibly grateful to Mat-Su Health Foundation for their generous support of Junior Nordics! Grant funding from Mat-Su Health Foundation helps offset program costs, allowing us to keep registration fees affordable and accessible for local families while also providing scholarship opportunities for those who need a little extra help.

Get Ready for Winter with Mat-Su Nordic!

❄️ Find Us at Frost Fest!

Winter is getting closer, and we’re excited to be part of Frost Fest: Winter Resource Expo on October 3 from 11am–3pm at the Palmer Train Depot!

Hosted by our friends at the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation in partnership with Revel Treks & Tours, Frost Fest is a FREE community event all about getting outside and making the most of winter in the Mat-Su. Come connect with local clubs, nonprofits, and outdoor organizations and learn about winter recreation, programs, classes, resources, and ways to get involved.

And, of course, come find the Mat-Su Ski Club table! We’ll be there to talk skiing and answer your questions about Junior Nordics, adult lessons, grooming and trails, membership, volunteering, upcoming events, and everything else happening around the club.
